How to deal with Morn players « Thread Started on Nov 3, 2009, 9:56am »
Ok so Yes I'm new to playing AD&D, but I think I get the whole roloeplaying idea and the group I have been playing in seems to enjoy how I play my character. I have a question though, at our last session the group went through a lot to get our "leader" a paldian to be rezzed from the dead ( since he had been decapicated and we did not have his head it was a huge undertaking).. anyways while the palidian was dead we stripped his body for parts (armor, weapons, etc) once rezzed and with out a thank you he starts demanding his stuff back, even though we offered to use party funds to get him new stuff...
and there the game stalled for 3 hours his charactor demanding his stuff back, the group offering him replacement stuff... now there is a plot to have is charactor killed within the group. any suggestions?

Well, you can simply ignore him, tell the DM you're setting off again, and the party can just move on without him if he insists on whining without stop. And next time he gets himself cut in two, just leave the body and have the player roll something else, though if it's the player that's the jackass and not the character (as would be expected if he's playing a paladin, since they have a minimum of like 17 Cha and a LG alignment) you'll end up having other problems as well. If a player is being a jerk for a moment, get past that moment, if he's being a jerk constantly, either kick him out or work on deflating his ego down to a manageable size. Tough undertakings all, but the last option is to take it and silently accede, and then you get the entire party plotting to kill him (character or player varies with the group =P).
Just my opinion though, others might give better advice. Oh, btw, it was unclear to me... did you actually HAVE his stuff and just wanted to keep it, or did the gear get lost/broken/stolen along the way? I assume the latter because otherwise giving him his stuff back and conspiring afterward would have saved 3 hours =P
