I guess introductions are in order  My name is Henrik, and I've played RPG's since I was around 14 years old, both as a player, and as a GM. I've played mostly D&D (red box set through black box set), AD&D 2nd ed, with some 1st ed thrown in (mostly the classes from the oriental supplement), but I've also played Gammaworld, Shadowrun 2nd ed, Star Wars d6, Marvel Super Heroes, and probably a few more that I cant remember right now. I havent played any of the D&D versions by WotC, mainly because I dont feel like buying the game all over again, but also because I feel that if its not broken dont fix it. Well I guess you know where I stand now, but ofc you are entiteled to your own oppinions, just like I am entiteled to mine |

Well this is embarrassing for me.  I totally forgot I was a member here on this board even though I've been I long time member. I got an e-mail message wishing me a happy new year from this site as a reminder. I guess I'll have to re-introduce myself. I'm Dan and I live in Nevada, Iowa. I've been playing RPG's since 1978 starting with OD&D White Box Edition. I still have my copies of the rule books and all the supplements. I've never tried D&D 3.x and never will, 4th ed. is absolutely out of the question. My campaign, Oriden, is a mix of AD&D 1st and 2nd eds. I've been DMing since 1979 with AD&D 1E. My campaign has a presence on the web through the Obsidian Portal website: www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/world-of-oriden. I not even close to being done with entering all the info I want to post there, but there's enough to get a taste of what I've built over the years. Even though I generally don't like 3E for its "munchkining" all the PC classes, the d20 combat mechanics have impressed me. I've been eying C&C closely and their quick-start rules gave me a good first impression. I actually may break down and buy the books for C&C as the game mechanics look pretty simple, and if I want younger players to adventure in my "old-school" setting, then I think these rules are the way to go. All my old school modules and other materials, both commercial and home made, will readily convert to C&C without too much trouble. Another factor in why I'm seriously considering converting to C&C. Well, that's me as a RPGer in a nutshell. I promise not to lose track of this site ever again and post regularly. TTFN. |

hi (again)!
I've been a member for a while, but have been away for sometime.
I'm Theslo of the Qualon clan, Elven fighter in the Greyhawk world. I also practice the arts of Magic.
My mind has been playing D&D since late teens and have written countless adventures and created two fully developed worlds. I'm 38 now with a wife, kids, a demanding job and miss playing for hours eating pizza and having a few cold ones!
Starting up a new once to twice a month group and have gathered 4 of the old gang to play, so I am very excited! I'm going to try to write 6-hour adventures to be finished each session, but I have never done that. A little nervous and very excited my mind is going a thousand miles a minute!
Anyway, I' glad to be back and I know I'll enjoy reading some of the posts and gathering some arcane knowledge in the meantime!
