Hey, I DM regular games and am always looking to dork it out.
I'm working on a general condensation of the 2nd ed rules, and I'm trying to come up with a dependable working rule set that will expand what can be done with combat proficiencies without breaking the game. (a lot of it consolidating rules from different books and flat out changing things that are just wrong like the bow and 2 weapon rules.)
how are cursing and sass looked upon here? I come from some pretty flamerific boards and don't want to assume it's appropriate to say horrible things to people because it seems funny at the time.

Name's Olreth, and I've been playing D&D for 20 years.
My first character was a first edition cleric I was forced to play by my older brother when I was six... I ended up getting the party killed, but not before finding out that I was good at being annoying.
I have recently moved on to DMing (4 years ago) and have a graveyard of dead characters numbering in the low fifties. I don't quite know why players think that just because there's a trap that there's a way to disarm it, and that it's within reach.
I'm currently running 3rd and 3.5, but more of a mix of the two when it comes to spells and such, and I own nearly the complete set of the books. I never went out and picked up the premade adventures, prefering to just drop the players into the world and see what they do with it.
