Hello All! I've been playing D&D since i was 7 (6 years ago I was introduced to it by my best friend's dad. My first 'character' was 2 foxes that had a collar (ring) that made him (them) turn into a human. ;D I enjoy DMing and DM for my younger siblings; and soon for my friends at my new school. I love the 2nd edition D&D rules, they where the first ones I used. In my opinion, 4th is a wannabe video game, and 2nd has a great mix of role-playing, fighting, and flexibility. I wish to make a positive impact to this community, in entertainment, growth, new ideas/house rules, and help for other players. I am grateful there is a place in this world that still plays 2nd Edition. Arkarai is the name of the realm I campaign in. Thank you! (edit: format and spelling mistakes)

I haven't played AD&D for almost 15 years. I pick up the new books to see how the game is going but really I haven't had the time or the group to play with. I've played Oblivion and morpgs, but they just don't do it for me. I prefer the imagination, individualism, and even the fallibility of a human DM. I'm looking for real time chat pick up games. I understand that means being given a character rather than bringing my own in, but if it helps the DM fill out a party, my favorite character was a human thief/wizard. His parents were wizards of some note. He had a decent dex but high int and rebelled against their wishes and dropped out of proper society and subsequently became a thief. I played him against his talents, going two levels of thief (I just realized that I'm showing my age by writing "thief") to one level of wizard. He begrudgingly uses spells, seeing wizardry as an admission that circumstances are beyond his ability to control. That being said, magic devices are his bread and butter (justified because a device is just that... a device, usable by anyone). He buys, seeks, and steals magic devices, but never collects. He burns through them. At the same time he has a real talent for magic, and though he disdains spellcraft, he use it to maximum effect if need be. I kind of always assumed that eventually he would reluctantly take on the mantle of a mage and I would start leveling him that way, I just never got him that far. That being said, give me a character and a game time that I can play, and I'll be there.

Hi, I am The Grangarian (sort of like Conan was a Cimarian I'm from Granger, IN :-) ) Totally wrong, but hey.... anyhow I like this site. It gives me great joy to know there are still people out there who PnP game. I've been playing since 1981...or was it 82? Huh? Well anyway it has been long enough. I really like the ideas I get from your site.

Hello all started playing D&D back in 1982 with 1st edition & while its a fine game I always liked 2nd edition more. I'm now 36 (yikes) and have a great group that I get to game with an have done so for the last 15 years. We play a lot of stuff but mostly 2e. I found this place after some google searching and really glad to be here amongst fellow 2E-ers as I have little desire to play 3 or 4 and tired of the rants but the old school crowd. Long live 2e and thanks for making this site. For other interests I play Warhammer and I am an Administrator at www.chaos-dwarfs.com. I also design the Word of Hashut ezine with 6 issues out so far.

Hi...name is James and I got interested in D&D when I was about 6. O' Course, mom heard lots of bad things about it so I had to start playing covertly later on, when I was about fifteen. I love computer/console games...started playing Dragonrealms and Gemstone on AOL when I was probably 13. Nothing since has ever compared to the feeling of sitting around a table and rolling the dice, though...truly trying to role-play our characters at penalty of death from our DM. Is there anywhere where players can meet and just chat the game? I want to play, but I could host if necessary, I suppose. -J
