Sorry, my friend, it doesn't look like many people here play much Birthright. Although I looked in here to see if I could find out anything about it, myself. I've always been kind of curious, and I have a boxed set of some of their miniatures. It looks like an interesting world, but I've yet to hear anything from anyone who's ever played in it.

;D Now you have one at least. I had I nice campaign going with one of my sons until he moved on to the 3.0 version of AD&D. I enjoyed the campaign greatly. Part of the reason that I like Birthright is that you control a whole regions affairs. The combat was kept unreasonably simple, but is very playable. My only gripe with the system is that it is unaccessible from Spell Jammer space and puts it in the same class as the Dark Sun Campaign. Cut off from the rest of the mutiverse. Later

I am the first to admit that I am a bit of a Powergamer once I work a character up that is. In the campaign my son ran I created a Magocracy in the S/W regions. It was nice to take your higher level PC beyond (but not totally remove him) from the normal PC adventures. I had established a mage school that put the Anuireans to shame. I was fast on my way to increasing all magic in Cerillia. My son made it really tough (darned kid learned it from the old man too well) with Rhoube Manslayer coming after me. I was an elf with a tolerance for the other races. Rhoube was as isolationist & bigotted as you could get. It was a great campaign. He followed that up with a merchant cartelle trying to mooch in, & followed that up with a personal attack of the Winter Witch that was aimed at my castle & merchant fleets. It just got nastier from there. When he finally turned to the Dark Side (3. yech!!) he had the Gorgon cutting a swath of destruction out of other regions in an attempt to get at me before I could become a threat to him. Or maybe he just wanted to bloodtheft my PC who knows?? Later ;D

Man oh man, don't you just HATE when they go to the dark side like that... I actually brought a couple of friends BACK from 3-E by just running sessions they loved to play in. In the end, it's all about the good times...

Yeah, they grow up, move away, and join the Dark Side. I do get to hit him with the "I am your father thing though!" ;D Maybe I can pull out an old Jedi Mind trick on him some day. He and his gamer friends want in on the long running game I run, but we haven't been able to get schedules together yet. Later

Yeah, before my Dad passed away, he was one of my best players. His best character was a Half-Elven Bard by the name of "Tellenar the Great." We had some good times.

Time in my realm moves rather quickly and generations of heroes have always been a big part of this. I was thinking of maybe adding a few powers tied to each family line. Any ideas?

;D I can look into it this weekend and get back to you. Are looking for something for outside the Birthright setting or in setting?? I ask because I once read a novel where the main character was tied to the land in the story. He had immense powers in his particular region, and was otherwise normal outside the region. He would have to return to the region very frequently if he left his land. Sort of ties in to Birthright type powers. I might even convert it for a Birthright power of the Anduiras or Brenna bloodlines. It would be especially good for Druid types. The novels character was a Ranger though. What do you think. Later I would do it tonight but I have a WSOP tourney in 10 min. I will check in later.

It is a non-birthright setting.

;D Okay I'm done! The birthright bloodline powers are set in 7 geographical family types. Anduirias, Azrai, Basaia, Brenna, Masela, Reynir, & Vorynn. The Azrai are distinctly evil and death dealing in nature. (Although the powers are not exclusively that). I don' t think you are looking for the evil variations. Some of the vorynn also were on the side of evil, so I think that I will list you reynir as they have a wide selection of powers for the average good PC. Here they are: (If you see something you like let me know and I will try to get you the details. Minor Alertness Animal Affinity Bloodmark Detect Illusion Detect Lie Detect Life Directio Sense Direction Sense Enhanced Sense Forest Walk Healing Heightened Sense Iron Will Long Life Major Resistance Poison Sense Resistance Unreadable Thoughts Major Animal Affinity Bloodtrait Detect Life Divine Aura Enhanced Sense Forest Walk Healing Long Life Major Resistance Portection From Evil Resistance Great Animal Affinity Bloodtrait Detect Life Divine Aura Elemental Control Forest Walk Healing Long Life Major Regeneration Major Resistance Regeneration Resistance Not a difinitive list of powers, but it does have a good representation of what it out there. I would go with Divine Aura, Long Life, Elemental Control, or Forest Walk. It would help to know the class of PC that you were shopping powers for too. Let me know. Later ;D
