Ohhh, that's right!!!! I had forgotten - the robe colors reflect "alignment" sort of? Right?

Yeah, 'good' mages wear white, 'neutral' mages wear red, and 'evil' mages wear black. In the aforementioned discussion of Raistlin, it should also be noted that Raistlin switched from red to black very much willingly/knowingly, it wasn't so much a shift in his alignment as the undercurrents coming forth.

I like that. Did they keep going with many stories about him?

I'm not sure that I'm qualified to answer that, as I've only begun reading the Dragonlance novels, but he is considered a stock NPC for the campaign setting.

Raistlin's alignment had been shifting from Neutral to Evil. He only started as a Red Robe because he worried what Caramon would think if he had chosen his true desire: The power of the Black Robes. When Raistlin finally accepted that he valued the power more than his brother, that's when he fully embraced his evil nature and switched to the Black Robes.
If you guys haven't read the new Dragonlance series after the Twin's series, Raistlin returns in the Chaos series where the gods get banished from the realm.
Personally, my favorite series is the Fifth Age series where the dragons take over the realm. I wish there were more stories from that episode in Krynn's history.
I also wish there were more stories about Huma's friend Magius, the mage the staff is named after.
I guess my favorite characters from Dragonlance were Raistlin, his nephew Palin, and Huma's companion Kaz the Minotaur.

Are the novels intergrated into the campaign setting? Are the characters from the books presented as NPC's in the game setting? Can you run into these people? Just curious if they run it like the Realms....

Noland has said pretty much all...
I can not answer your question Evergreen Aldaron. My knowledge is very limited (non-existent!?) when it comes to Dragon Lance settings in pen&paper games.

Just curious if they run it like the Realms.... Yes, very much so. The novels are what the pen-n-paper world's timeline is set by and the major characters from the novels are presented as NPCs in the campaign setting book, though Raistlin's listed as 20th level and his original traveling companions (Tanis, Caramon, Tas, etc) are listed around 12th level. *shrug*

There is a reason why/how Raistlin grows in power all of a sudden.. I will not tell it here, however.

I was looking through my stuff and I actually have the Dragonlance Players hand book. It is almost all made up the rich timeline and history of Krynn. It was very fun to page through.

The art work is beautiful also. I can see why TSR had so much trouble staying afloat. I wish they would have done what Palladium is doing and asking their fan base for more support. I personally have bought about 300 dollars worth of Rifts books since I heard Palladium was in danger of going out of business. I'm sure I would have done the same for TSR.
