I was wondering what if any Gaming Cons does anyone go to. I have been to Dragoncon in Atlanta, ConCon in Connecticut and several others. Which ones do you like and when are they?
Also, do you think that the Cons have lost their way or are they still a good place to find gamers?

Going to Cons is not to gain cool points but to enrich the gaming communities and meet new people and share ideas.

They are quite a lot of fun and a great way to meet gamers in your area. Also they release new games at some of the Cons.

Not all of it. I can still find 2nd ed. players at the Cons and if you can't, convert the 3rd ed. players.

Many authors and artists also show up at Cons. At one Con I ran into Robert Aspirin, the writer of the MYTH and PHULE series. I have met some great and sometimes famous people at Cons. Some time folk travel from other counties to go to Cons. Several members of my family do it quite often. To use my favorite Americanism " It's a hoot and a half!".

The actual problem with going to Cons is the time and money aspect.

You do have a point. However, many of the young gamers go to the Cons and if we are not there, who will show them the way to higher gaming?
