Wow, that's definitely not the way I'd pictured Icingdeath in my mind when I read the Drizzt series.. Odd that you say that my friend. I did not picture the beast that way either. WotC is always "re-tooling" the look of their monsters. All the dragons are now based on the artwork of Todd Loackwood, so the mini's follow that style.

It looks...nice enough, but more like an old and aged dragon IMHO. What was Icing Death's age category? Umm, just how much money does this thing cost? I heard such things were expensive at best. Icingdeath was a very old, if not ancient dragon. So they figured it would be perfect for the gargantuan size. For some prespective, see the picture below of Drizzt next to the gargantuan blue dragon I have (which is roughly the same size as the white coming out): The Legend of Drizzt Icon set (with the above white dragon, a new Drizzt figure, and a figure of Wulfgar) will be $49.99 retail or $37 through Amazon.com. You are right, it is a little pricy...

I guess, in my mind, dragons just aren't that squared-off in the face.

Again, the head seems a bit squarish to me, but otherwise, nice picture, the color is great and it does a good job of showing the proportions. Ouch, that's very pricey, even for a mini.

WOW what a size difference Really gives you a better understanding of the concept of the dragon towering over you in battle and that whole concept of dragon-fear, doesn't it?

No question...I think that is the biggest accomplishment of the D&D mini's. They are all to scale like that. Even a Balor towers over a normal sized mini (like Drizzt). Adds some nice perspective.

These pictures make me wish I had the patience to really paint my figures. I cannot take credit for the Blue Dragon my friends, the mini comes prepainted. Right out of the box. I am going to re-paint the big blue and touch it up, but not right now. I am still working on the darn red! I will, however take credit for Drizzt. That is one of my re-paints. ;D

Very true. She's just used to my using whatever mini (or stuffed animal) I have on hand that has the right sized base.

Many thanks friend.
We used to use a stuffed T-Rex for a dragon back in the day. I think I still have it....

*L* I have a small stuffed dragon (by Ty) that I routinely use for dragons because he happens to fit the base size requirements reasonably well. ;D
