My favorites for Online Play outside the Fantasy Ground for D&D would be:
Halo on the PC Command & Conquer (Original 1st one) Warcraft II DOOM Quake I
Never got to interested in most of them. Thats why I'm hoping DDO turns into somthing very good.

I'd love to see you there, we're Conner & Dragona there, the co-owners. Dragona gave you a very tiny nut's shell version of it, but if you've got a specific question about it or want to narrow the focus of your question just a little, either of us would be delighted to share info our baby. Basically it's very much like one of the MMORPGs (World of Warcraft, Ultima Online, etc) except without the graphics (we're entirely text based.. well, almost entirely, you can have a little compass that graphically shows you what exits are in the room you're in) and with much smaller, yet much more friendly crowds to play with.

If I can find the time I would like to try your MUD. Would using a dial-up account be a problem?

Nope, we've got several players who are on dial-up, it's not a problem at all, though we have a command "speed" that you can set as high as 5 if you're on broadband, but on dial-up I wouldn't recommend going higher than 3.. it defaults to 0 which is really pretty slow.. ok, it's painfully slow, but a 5 may kick your connection on dial-up because of buffer overflows.

Well I guess I could pay a visit to it tonight. Now that you finally got there, you can, as thewalkingdead would say, lann everyone else here on the chant of what it's like. I got the impression awhile back that Decind might've visited too, but I was never quite sure.. and we're definitely anxious to see if Niemz likes it. ;D

That was really driving me nutty thought I was doing something wrong. I will be logging on again today. Yeti

Unfortunately, that's a problem that's very common among mud client's with mapping functions (mainly just zmud and mud magic), the mapping works, but it's not really very intelligent. *shrug* I am very glad that you like it, and humbly apologize for the strangeness that happened today, usually the mud is very stable, but whenever we change something there's a chance that it will have adverse effects. Today was almost a comedy of errors for us, but I think everything's straightened out now.

Aye, you are clearly learning and have been asking less and less, once you figure out the help system I suspect you'll have even less questions as we have 1,281 help topics in our help system (with thousands of keywords to access those helps) and of course I'm sure that the newbie guide being updated will help tremendously as well.
