Mine's actually rather funny.
When I was 8, I saw the game (Introduction to AD&D) sitting on a bookstore shelf, and bitched and whined until my mother put up the $20 for it.
I eventually got the normal game, and am still playing.

I was older I think I was 16 or 17 when I started roleplaying. I played the board game RPGs before the though. DragonStrike, HeroQuest and the the likes.

lol @ HeroQuest.
I have that in the top of a closet in my parents house.
Sadly, my Wizard miniature for it is super-glued together. Other than that, it's in pretty good shape.

i got into the game bescause of my love for dragons and a friend asked if i wanted to try and help himout drawing some strong holds out for him and well it just went on from there and he had some good ideas that he wanted on paper. there was no less than six of us playing at any time and even at one point there was twenty four sitting around but most of all the smoke and drinks with my friends. If i could just find a few to play again the long game we all set down and played 3 days with only a couple of hours sleep each day but wee did pull a straight 30 hours that weekend.

My brother, hands down. Always playing these kinds of games with his friends, always getting into odd situations. Poking fun at it by having incredibly funny things happen to him and his friends. Always loved that aspect, that we were not limited by programing or some other disability, but just our imagination. Any game where you can get yourself killed by decapitation in some random maze of death traps and doom is a fun game (I can't remember the exact name, my brother had it, it was chamber of tortures? or torment? some dungeon adventure with traps at every corner). Look forward to having fun with you guys.

I agree, just the chance to hang out with the guys once a week is great. It is fun to see everyone and have a good time.

Recently D+D is a great break from work and family. It is nice to play IC for a few hours and forget about work. Most of the time D+D is very relaxing.

I'm not sure if I ever really posted this. It was Taican. I had step-brothers that played the game as a kid but was never introduced to the game by them. I figured it was a good way to relieve some of the stress from school.

Yup. I figured it was a good way to get her to spend time with me. It seems to have worked, we've been together and playing for 15 and a half years now.
