When Tef was in the Reserves, they were doing their rifle shoot. It was time for the full auto firing, which isn't scored. They just do it to show the troops why not to use full auto. The pit crew (the guys who change the targets between shoots, whatever they're called) raised the targets. The one in the middle had the purple dinosaur adfixed to it somehow. Every Rifle on the range tracked onto it...they found a chunk of purple fabric about an inch square, and some fluff...that was all. 20 some clips at full auto...I LMAO when he told me about it.
My boss just bought a full blood, papered sheltie. Its name is Caillou, but he calls it Hey You instead...

We have a port on the speakers for the computer that allow for the headphones to be plugged in and we keep a set of headphones at the computer for that reason. We can still use the sound but not bother the others in the area.

Nope, I have a set of speakers in the basement somewhere that do...but the sound when the headphones are unplugged isn't nearly as good as the ones I have hooked up now. Plus those ones I can't run through my subwoofer.

The speakers in the bedroom are better, and they don't have that either.

Okay, I wasn't sure whether or not all computer speakers had headphone ports or not.

no, but most towers do (a lot of the time, that's where you plug in the extra speakers ^..^)

Yea, that's my complaint about a lot of these dumb pre/teenage shows. Like hannah montana, suite life of zach and cody (sry if i'm spelling them wrong) but anyways...... they are so childish and stupid and they act like complete morrons or brats and ppl are expected to let their kids watch this and then complain when their kids act the same way ...... [/rant] sry but I get upset because my daughter watches tv in the afternoon because playgroup and preschool are in the mornings .... >_< but all that's on is these stupid shows and reruns of Saved by the Bell - I hate to admit that I used to watch that show devotedly wayyyy wayyy back when...... Anyways, I wish they would show kids shows durring the afternoon too (Like Nogin says that it does, but doesn't >_<)...... anyways, sry guess I got a bit carried away with my "little" rant LOL

My brother and I bought the boxed, Basic Edition way back in 1981, and that had us hooked. Our first module was The Keep on the Border Lands.

I was hanging out with my future Sister-in-law's Boyfriend and his friends when they started talking about theyre old DM and how he went crazy and burned all of his D&D books... because he got saved or something.. anyway thats how i found out they played D&D .. I had never played or had any interest in playing. I had always liked what i call "sword movies" and D&D-esque video games things involving magic and all that .. but i never thought twice about D&D.. during the course of the conversation i told them to show me how to play .. to which they explained that D&D isnt like monopoly .. you cant just pull it out and play.. so they talked to me about what characters and classes were i decided to give it a shot .. my wife did too .. that was about 2 years ago .. and now we play 2nd edition (the good edition) after giving 3.0/3.5 a good looking over and deciding that it ruined the game and was virutally a "video game on paper" not true D&D.. we picked it up quickly and now i run a bi-weekly game and play with the DM that burned all his books (funny enough -- he realized that he was being retarded) on the weeks that i dont run a game.. thats my story.
btw - it really bothers me when people cant grasp THAC0 and lower=better AC --- GURRRRR RAGE. i had to quit a D&D 2.0/3.x forum because of that .. I am happy to join this true D&D site.

I was of an early age and my considerably older cousin had an attic room at my aunt & uncle's dwarf-crafted brick house and within his second room behind a secret door were little miniatures - mostly painted. I admit I didn't know much about the rules then of the first edition of AD&D or any of its affiliated tomes but, man, it seemed so cool to read about the powers behind the pictures and the magic items seemed just too cool. Eventually, I did get a session or two in with his younger brother and was highly entertained by the short-lived adventures I had been given. Later on life, I found out that my older brother played AD&D with his neighbour and friends. Hey! What secret guild was he in that it took me so long to find out anyways?
